A2 DataDive data preparation jam on November 12

Building on the success of last year’s A2 DataDive, the organizers Claire Barco and Nikki Roda have announced the first of this year’s Data Jam events. These events are open to the public, and will be of special interest to anyone who wants to learn more about how to prepare the datasets for the DataDive coming up in February 2013. A2 DataDive Data Jam for the Huron River Watershed Council Monday, November 12, 11:30am-1pm North Quad 1255 This time Justin Joque, a data librarian from the Clark Library on campus, will be introducing participants to the preliminary steps of preparing a dataset for analysis. They’ll be working with data from the Huron River Watershed Council, a scientific organization that monitors the health of the Huron River Watershed. During this workshop they’ll be walking through the process of collecting, cleaning, and merging datasets so that they are fit for analytic purposes. This event is open to the public.  Please RSVP.
