Michigan R Users Group – First meeting on October 9

The Michigan R Users group will meet once a month during the 2012-2013 academic year to discuss topics related to the R environment for statistical computing. Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of affiliation with the University of Michigan.
The first meeting will be from 3:30-5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 9 in the Modern Languages Building, Room 2001A: http://uuis.umich.edu/cic/buildingproject/index.cfm?BuildingID=111
The October meeting will be a general introduction to the R environment, including the basics of the R language and examples of how R can be used for data analysis. Both new and experienced R users are welcome to attend this session.
Beginning in November, more specialized topics will be covered. Tentative topics include survival analysis, mixed models for dependent data, and advanced data management.
