Statistics Seminar: Nandini Kannan, PhD, National Science Foundation – Navigating NSF Funding

Title: Navigating NSF: Funding Opportunities, Proposal Preparation, and the Merit Review Process Abstract: The Division of Mathematical Sciences offers a number of funding opportunities within the disciplinary programs and participates in several cross-cutting initiatives across the Foundation. This presentation will describe opportunities that are relevant to the Statistics and Biostatistics communities. New initiatives, including the Big Data solicitation, the joint DMS-NIGMS solicitation, the Mathematical Sciences Innovation incubator, as well as programs targeted toward junior investigators and postdoctoral fellows will be discussed. The talk will also describe guidelines for proposal preparation and NSF’s Intellectual Merit and Broader Impacts criteria.
